In a statement, the student body said, the intelligence officers have threatened the administration of Anna University demanding details about Ramesh. Ramesh, is currently working as teaching staff at Anna University.

“These activities are all a part of the plan by the central government to bring the name of APSC into a false case filed in the Bhima Koregaon incident,” the statement said.

It claimed that the IIT-M administration derecognized APSC, once BJP came to power at the Centre. ”In the case against Teltumbde, the Maharashtra government has accused the professor of having funded and helped in founding APSC in IIT-M,” it said adding “this is an outright lie”.

“We suspect that the Modi government is building a narrative to further attack the study circles named after Ambedkar and Periyar across the country,” the APSC alleged. “This is a clear attempt to remove the progressive forces from campuses across the country and to convert these campuses into RSS training centers,” the statement of APSC said.
