“The Centre has been sanctioning funds only to Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, while ignoring Tamil Nadu. The AIADMK leadership is scared of the Central government,” he said, while addressing the public from an open van at Thalavadi in Erode district. Kickstarting his three-day tour in the district, aimed at reaching out to the public ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Dhinakaran said that people should not vote for national parties as they do not have any concern for Tamil Nadu.
Claiming that the DMK is afraid of facing the by-polls, the AMMK leader said the DMK postponed the Tiruvarur by-poll by filing a case in court through other parties. Earlier speaking to newspersons, Dhinakaran said the AIADMK will not win a single seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Urging the people to vote for the AMMK’s ‘cooker’ symbol, Dhinakaran said he is determined to retrieve the two leaves symbol, which is presently with the AIADMK.
“The ruling party will never win, as it has been implementing all schemes opposed by former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa,” he said, adding that his party is in talks for an alliance and will announce its decision soon. Stating that he could have become the Chief Minister after Jayalalithaa’s demise, Dhinakaran said O Panneerselvam was instead made the CM. “They forgot to be grateful due to their greed for money and power,” he said
