Farmers demand release of insurance

Farmers from Thanjavur besieged the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Credit Society on Saturday demanding to disburse the insurance amount of Rs 118 crore for the year 2016-17 and 20170-18.

The members of Thanjavur District Cauvery Farmers Protection Assocation led by the secretary Swamimalai S Vimalnathan, assembled in the society and claimed that the Kumbakonam Central Cooperative Society had already disbursed the insurance amount but the PACCS of Manongarai is yet to give it to farmers.
