Radhakrishnan, 11 IAS officers transferred
The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday transferred 12 IAS officers, including Chennai Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan, Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan and District Collectors of Tiruchy, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai and Coimbatore.

The move comes in the wake of a recent EC direction to State governments insisting transfer of IAS and IPS officers serving for more than three years in a district. A few IPS transfers are also expected, Secretariat sources said.
The order signed by Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan posted Radhakrishnan to head the State Transport Department as its Principal Secretary. Radhakrishnan has served as the longest health secretary for six years. He drew flak over the recent HIV infected blood transfusion case.
Commissioner of Municipal Administration, G Prakash, will be the new Chennai Corporation Commissioner and Karthikeyan will head the Municipal Administration. Commissioner of Indian medicine Beela Rajesh is the new Health Secretary. Coimbatore Collector TN Hariharan and Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner and K Vijayakarthikeyan were also transferred. IG for registration, J Kumaragurubaran will now be the Commissioner of Disaster Management. Tiruvarur Collector L Nirmal Raj has been appointed Joint Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board. T Anand and Uma Maheswari will assume charge as District Collectors of Tiruvarur and Pudukkottai districts respectively.
