Talking to reporters here, Anbazhagan reminded that Bedi had taken steps over the appointment of three nominated BJP members in the Assembly, voting rights provided  to them, cash transferred to bank accounts of poor people for providing rice and the latest the Madras High Court dismissing a writ petition on the issue of appointment  of the State Election Commissioner, which shows the Lt Governor has an upper hand. The Court also took serious note of the confrontation between the Lt Governor and the Chief Minister and advised them to resolve the issues through dialogue for the welfare of the people, he said.He said it is not fair on the part of the Chief Minister to continue in power even after the observation of the High Court and the Congress High Command should take note of this.

Anbazhagan said an ‘extraordinary’ situation prevails in Puducherry with confrontations in the administration and ruling party legislator leveling charges against the government.Pointing out to the Madras High Court Order that cash be remitted to the bank account of the beneficiaries instead of free rice, Anbazahgan said the government had failed to remit the cash to the beneficiaries so far.

If the cash was not remitted forthwith, a contempt of court case would be filed in the High Court against the government, he warned.

On CPI Puducherry Unit Secretary Saleem’s charges against him, he said the CPI is responsible for the provision of lay-off salary to the workers of the AFT mills here. Then it was cautioned that if the situation continued, it will lead to the closure of the mill and such a situation has come now. “For this only Saleem leveled charges against me,” Anbazhagan said.
