Alagiri lashes out at Ramdoss, calls him an opportunist
Slamming the AIADMK-PMK alliance as an “alliance of tainted hands,” state Congress president KS Alagiri on Thursday said that PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss has set a Guinness record in opportunistic politics.

Elaborating on the DMK-Congress alliance, Alagiri referred to the consistent hopping of the PMK between the two Dravidian parties since UPA-I and said that he could proudly trumpet that the DMK-Congress alliance was one built on ideological lines.
“I can shout from the roof top that the DMK-Congress alliance was an ideological one, but what about the parties opposing us? What is their ideology? What was the political stand in the past?” the TNCC chief asked.
Recalling the petition the PMK had submitted to Governor Banwarilal Purohit levelling 24 allegations against the AIADMK Ministers, Alagiri said the same PMK which petitioned the Governor against AIADMK has forged alliance with the ruling party in just 70 days.
“Tainted hands have come together. Could there be a blatant opportunistic politics than this? Ramadoss has achieved a Guinness record in opportunistic politics,” he remarked, adding that opportunists have come together and forged an alliance against the DMK-Congress combine.
Alagiri also asserted that they would tear the mask of the opportunist AIADMK-PMK alliance in the public forum by explaining the ideology of the secular alliance to the people.
Forecasting a repeat of 2009 in which the PMK bit dust in all the six constituencies it had contested in the ensuing Parliamentary elections, Alagiri said there could be no second thought in the fact that the people of the state would teach a fitting lesson to the PMK, apparently trying to make up for his statement a few days ago that the PMKs should have joined them and in joining the AIADMK the party has buried its principles.
Alagiri’s advise to the PMK moments after the latter inked seat sharing deal with the AIADMK did not impress either the DMK or his own party.
