Expressing dissatisfaction at the Governor keeping mum on the unanimous resolution adopted by the state Assembly to release the seven convicts, Stalin said the seven and a half crore Tamils anticipating their release were disappointed by the inaction of the Governor.
As per the SC verdict in the case, the Governor has no other option but to give his approval to the Assembly resolution, Stalin said. The CM has neither come forward to question nor exert pressure on the Centre to advise the Governor to act upon the resolution for months, he criticised.
The AIADMK could have set release of seven convicts, approval of NEET legislation, scrapping of Hydrocarbon and Mekadatu dam as pre-conditions for alliance with the BJP, but no one knows if the CM has set the conditions, Stalin said.
