A Avinash (24), a marine engineer from North Mathukur near Pattukkottai in Thanjavur was working in Tanzanian ship at Istanbul. The Tanzanian-flagged tanker caught fire on the Black sea in Russia in which Avinash along with a few other mariners went missing.
Meanwhile, M Anand Sekar, CRPF personnel and father of Avinash along with his mother Allirani, a school teacher, who were anxious, approached the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court to instruct the government to respond on the condition of their son Avinash.
“Almost one month is over and we are yet to get information from the officials from both state and Centre.... So, we have approached the court to direct the government to initiate action and provide proper information to us,” Anand Sekar said on Monday.
