She said the latest reports predict a 20-20 situation for the NDA and the UPA. "This will again change after the BJP intensifies its campaign in Tamil Nadu. As part of the campaign Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a mega rally in Chennai on March 6 and constituents of the NDA are gearing up for a massive campaign," the state BJP president said.

“NDA will sweep all the 40 seats and the political leaders are working towards campaign strategies. We have formed a formidable alliance and the schemes launched by the centre and state will help the BJP to garner votes. The poll mood in our camp has picked up at and cadres are in an upbeat mood,” Tamizhisai said.

Be it Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu, the BJP has formed formidable alliances and the party has sacrificed seats to its allies to ensure that the NDA is benefitted. More political parties are in touch with the BJP and there are possibilities for the alliance to expand.

BJP is in touch with the AIADMK to accommodate the DMDK and talks are progressing. We hope that theDMDK joins the NDA soon, Tamilisai said.

Later speaking to reporters in Thoothukudi, she said it was the DMK, whichforged alliance with parties on the basis of religion and not the BJP.

She expressed optimism that both the DMDK and Puthiya Tamilagam wouldjoin the NDA for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, AIADMK leaders Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam conducted party district secretary meeting to discuss the poll strategies.

The AIADMK which had allied with the BJP had also planned to organise massive campaigns and rallies during the visit of PM Modi to Kanniyakumari and Chennai.
