Accordingly, the study centres will be established in collaboration with experts to break the distance barrier for students. ICSI president Ranjeet Pandey told DT Next on Thursday that employment prospects are more for the students, who take up company secretaries’ courses.

“A qualified company secretary has openings in employment and as practising independent professional,” he added. He said the institute has been constantly focusing its energies towards career progression of its students and members by providing various platforms.

He said that the ICSI faculty will train the students in the study centres that are set up in various institutions, after college hours, so that they can become qualified company secretary when they finish their graduation.

“Study centres will be established in collaboration with reputed colleges in different locations covering the remote places so that students belonging to these locations shall also benefit as they would not have to travel long distances to reach the nearest existing coaching centres for availing even basic services,” he said.

According to him, the overall aim of the institute in setting up the study centre is to supplement the efforts of its regional and chapter offices in activities like career counselling, attending to registration related queries, facilitating online student registrations apart from conducting classroom teaching activity. The ICSI president said the nearest regional councils and chapters will be mentoring the respective study centres for providing efficient services to the existing and prospective students of the institute.

Stating that at present the ICSI is holding talks with various colleges in all districts of the state, he said the study centres will come up depends on the demand from the student’s representations.
