According to the police, Madanagopal (27), a resident of Polivakkam in the neighbouring Kancheepuram district, was reportedly attracted to Radhika, a married woman.

The two worked in the same private company in Vembakkam and Radhika had complained to her husband Bullet Perumal about Madanagopal, the police added. On Saturday, Madanagopal was at his office when he received a call on his mobile. A man, who identified himself as Poovarasan, told Madanagopal on the phone that he wanted to talk to him urgently and that he was waiting outside. Madanagopal obliged to this.

Outside, Poovarasan threatened Madanagopal and took him to nearby Narasamangalam on his two-wheeler.

At Narasamangalam, Bullet Perumal and his wife Radhika were already waiting for them. As the victim de-boarded the two-wheeler, the three attacked him with knives and then fled the scene.

Locals who witnessed the incident rushed Madanagopal to the Kancheepuram government hospital. They also informed the Vebakkam police, following which a case was registered in this connection. A search has been initiated to nab the three accused persons.
