In the video, Thirunavukkarasu, the mastermind behind the extortion racket, claimed ignorance and said that a case has been foisted on him by his rivals.

“I want the CBI to inquire the case to bring out the truth. I am ready to accept any punishment if proven with evidence,” he said. Just a few days ago, an audio clip of Thirunavukkarasu was circulated in social media.

Police have so far arrested three members of the gang, who sexually abused several college girls and young women after luring them into love trap through social media. The members of the gang used to videograph the act and later extort money from victims.

The incident came to light after a 19-year-old girl, a student of a private college, gave a complaint to Coimbatore rural police.

Police arrested N Sabarirajan, 25, N Sathish, 29, and T Vasanthakumar, 22; however, the mastermind of the gang K Thirunavukkarasu is still absconding.

Meanwhile, the members of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) staged a demonstration at Tiruvalluvar Thidal, while the DMK cadres came tying their mouth with black clothes to petition officials at the sub-collector office demanding the arrest of key accused in the case. They claimed that police have left Thirunavukarasu to go scot-free due to his politicalconnections.
