DMK candidates list to be ready by Tuesday
Heavyweights in the DMK are likely to apply for Lok Sabha ticket on Monday. DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, who is most likely to contest from Thoothukudi, is scheduled to file the application on Monday.

Writer and Tamil scholar Tamilachi Thangapandian, sister of former DMK minister Thangam Thennarasu, would apply for South Chennai ticket on the same day.
Other prominent names to turn up at Anna Arivalayam would include DMK treasurer Duraimurugan’s son Kathir Anand who is eyeing Vellore or Arakkonam seat.
Meanwhile, former IT minister and propaganda secretary of the party A Raja on Sunday formally submitted application for The Nilgiris Parliamentary seat from where he was elected to the Parliament during the UPA tenure.
Former DMK minister Arcot N Veerasamy’s son Dr Kalanithi, a hot favourite for Chennai North could also make a formal request in a couple of days.
Old timers, former union ministers TR Baalu and Jagathratchakan, both are vying for Sriperumbudur seat and a few other district secretaries’ sons could make the move before Tuesday, March 5, as they would be travelling to Virudhunagar for a mega rally planned by the DMK on Wednesday, March 6.
Going by the urgency shown by the DMK probable candidates since Sunday, the tentative list of candidates would be ready by Tuesday by then most of them would have filed their applications.
“Leaders might have to rush back to the city from Virudhunagar as filing of applications will close on Thursday. So, most of the leaders will submit the papers before Tuesday evening,” a DMK senior requesting anonymity said.
