HR and CE Minister inaugurates special health camp
Health facility provisions were announced for the rural folk at a health mela and special health camp conducted in the upgraded Primary Health Centre (PHC) in SV Nagaram near Arni by the HR&CE minister Sevoor S Ramachandran on Tuesday.

Handing out the ‘Amma Child Welfare Kits’ that consists of 16 items, minister Ramachandran said that in the last two years in Tiruvannamalai district, special surgeries were conducted on 36, 279 beneficiaries at an estimated Rs 60.03 crore under the Chief Minister’s expanded health insurance scheme. Further, maternity assistance worth Rs 4.90 crore was provided to 15,411 pregnant women under the Dr Muthulakshmi Memorial Maternity Assistance Scheme.
The child welfare kits were provided for 10,933 children born in government hospitals. The minister added that the Amma pharmacy in the district had recorded sales of Rs 70.42 lakh while under the state’s cradle baby scheme 25 girl children were being brought up at a cost of Rs 14 lakhs.
In the special health camp that was held on Tuesday, as many as 1680 persons were treated. Out of the 1680, 722 underwent special medical screening, 59 of them underwent special ultrasound scan, 11 were provided with ECG tests, 14 x-ray, 36 eye tests, 189 had their blood checked, 210 pregnant women were tested and 36 were vaccinated.
