While talking to reporters after taking part in a meeting with party cadre, Alagiri in a veiled attack on DMDK said it was still a curse on politics since some parties had been treating poll talks on alliance like cattle trade in shandy and bargaining on how much they would get from one side and the other.

“Without any basic ideology and principle, such parties are involved in talks with others several times before forming alliance. Hence, the younger generation should be more careful about such parties and it’s their duty to dethrone those in the upcoming polls,” he said.

Attacking the BJP by saying it has a dictatorial leadership, Alagiri added that it has become the need of the hour for parties with democratic principles to unite against such dictatorship.

Unlike the Congress party, which is secular, he said the BJP along with the RSS was dividing our own people and spreading hatred.

Sensing weakness in the BJP, the TNCC president said the BJP’s concept one India, one religion, one language and one culture would harm the interest of people of different races and religions.
