Talks with DMDK going on smoothly: Tamilisai
While the DMDK is yet to reach a consensus on alliance for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday has said talks are progressing at a smooth pace with the party.

After landing at Thoothukudi airport to attend a series of programmes concerning her party and with agents deputed to man polling booths, she said, already the DMDK had talks with the BJP in a disciplined manner. Talking to reporters in Thoothukudi, Tamilisai said right from the beginning, LK Sudhish, deputy general secretary of DMDK, was clear in his stand that the DMDK would be a part of the BJP-led alliance and contest the polls. Citing this, she was optimistic that the DMDK’s alliance with the BJP could be finalised in another two or three days.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at a public rally in Chennai on Wednesday, she said the BJP’s alliance with the AIADMK, the PMK and Puthiya Tamizhagam ahead of the Lok Sabha polls was aimed at ensuring further growth in Tamil Nadu. The cadres of these parties had been working heart and soul to bring victory in all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies. Responding to a query, she said her candidature in Thoothukudi Lok Sabha constituency is yet to be confirmed.
