Tiruvallur Collector conducts marathon for poll awareness
A mini marathon was conducted by the district Collector R.Maheshwari on Sunday to highlight the importance of voting in the coming polls. Over 300 students participated in the event.

Speaking to reporters, Collector Maheshwari said that total number of voters in the district were identified as 32,34,706 of which male voters included 16,05,908, women are 16,28,089 and other voters recorded as 709.
“As a result of the continuous updation from 1/11/2018 till date, a total number of 65335 petitions were collected for the inclusion and exclusion of the names. Total of 10 assembly constituencies were reported to the election commission and requested to deploy 3583 booths and 55 sub booths as total of 3638 will be the requirement in Tiruvallur booths,” the collector said. The election control room will be existing in district collector office 24 hours and the complaints in regards with the election can be lodged through the toll-free number 1950 and 18004258515. Collector also said that the election commission of India has started a new app for voters to know the in and outs of election activities. “To avoid the money laundering to the public by the political parties, 30 stable squad team (SST) and 30 flying squad team were appointed,” Maheshwari said. She added said that 10 camera crew teams were set up in Tiruvallur district administration office to monitor the expenses of the candidates across the districts.
