Bharat Sena functionary’s jeep set on fire

Bharat Sena state secretary Vasu, 37, had parked his jeep in front of his residence at Narayanasamy Nagar in Kannappa Nagar on Monday night.

“Around 2 am, neighbours came out on hearing a loud noise and found the jeep on fire. They immediately doused the fire by pouring water,” police said.

Based on Vasu’s complaint, the Rathinapuri police scanned the images recorded in a CCTV and found an unidentified man, with his face completely covered by a cloth, pouring petrol from a can and setting the jeep on fire. He then sped away in a two-wheeler.

The police are searching for the unidentified culprit.
