Dhinakaran’s Bengaluru commander gets Hosur
The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) on Monday announced the final list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the vacant Hosur Assembly seat. With just a day to go for the nominations, the AMMK also replaced its candidate for Tirunelveli LS seat.

For the Hosur Assembly constituency, which became vacant due to the conviction of minister Balakrishna Reddy, the AMMK fielded V Pugazhendhi, secretary of the Karnataka unit of the party. Pughazhendi, a close aide of jailed AMMK leader VK Sasikala is also the Krishnagiri AMMK district in charge. AMMK had also fielded N Tamilmaran, secretary of the youth wing for Puducherry as the party candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat.
The statement also announced the replacement of its nominee for the Tirunelveli Lok Sabha constituency, R Gnana Arulmani, with S Michael Royappan, former Radhapuram legislator. Royappan, a film producer-turned-politician was elected on the ticket of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) in May 2011. After the ties between the AIADMKand the DMDK turned sour, the former legislator joinedthe AIADMK in 2016. After the demise of AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa, Royappan shifted his allegiance to AMMK.
Meanwhile, AMMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran campaigned in north and central Chennai for the AMMK and SDPIcandidates. Dhinakaran urged the voter to extend their support to the AMMK which is the only party that would strive for the rights of Tamil Nadu. AMMK candidates in all the 40 Lok Sabha seats and 18 vacant assembly seats will file their nominationson Tuesday.
