10 arrested for gang rivalry
The Vellore north police secured 10 persons on Thursday, including two juveniles, for involving in a skirmish between two rival gangs at Thottapalayam area in Vellore last Sunday.

The arrest included Sridhar (45) and Prem (27) of different areas in Vellore town. Of the others arrested, six persons were below 21 years and 2 were juveniles.
Fight between the two gang intensified when the car of Gokul (30) and Tamilmani (27), sons of GG Ravi, a rowdy, was attacked and petrol bombs were hurled at the car by two unidentified two-wheeler borneassailants.
Though the brothers escaped without major injury, it resulted in a skirmish between two rival gangs.
As a result, the window panes of a private lodge in which the duo sought refuge and vehicles were damaged by the group, said to be the maha gang.
While the cops had earlier arrested 7 persons, they were also searching for 10 others who were arrested on Thursday. After a Vellore court remanded Sridhar and Prem, both were lodged in the Vellore central prison and the other 6 were sent to borstal school.
The two juveniles were sent to a government rehabilitation home. Police are still searching for the leaders of the gang in this connection. Investigations are underway.
