Girl goes missing after censure by exam invigilator

The police are searching for a Class 11 student of a Kendriya Vidyalaya who went missing from the school on Friday after she was scolded by an examination invigilator for suspected malpractice. The girl was asked to bring her parents to the school on Monday.

Swasthika Kumari’s parents have stuck her photographs with contact details in Tambaram and nearby areas. Her father, Alok Kumar, is working in Tambaram Indian Air Force base and resides with family in Selaiyur.


The police said that Swasthika reportedly tried to copy an answer from another student during an exam on Friday. “An invigilator scolded her and had asked her to bring her parents to school on Monday,” a police officer said.


When Swasthika failed to reach home till late in the evening, her parents started searching for her. As they could not locate her till Saturday morning, the family lodged a complaint with the Selaiyur police.
