Results of Class 10 to be out tomorrow

Anxiety builds up among students as Mathematics and Science question papers rated tough by most candidates

Higher education fate of over nine lakh students is to be decided as Class 10 board exams results are set to be declared on Monday.


The exams were held from March 14 to 29 with Mathematics and Science papers being rated as tough by the students. “The results will be announced on April 29 at 9.30 am,” a senior official from the Directorate of Examinations said on Saturday.


Accordingly, the 9.59 lakh students, who appeared for the exams, can view their results with analysis on www.tnresults.nic.in, www.dge1.tn.nic.in and www.dge2.tn.nic.in


Students can also get the results from all National Informatics Centre, which is established in all the districts and taluks.


In addition, the authorities also made arrangements to send the results of the students to their parents or guardians’ mobile through SMS soon after the results are announced.


Stating that the students could get the statement of marks from May 2 in their respective schools, the official said, “Similarly, the candidates could also download their statement of marks in www.dge.tn.nic.in after submitting their date of birth and registration number from May 6.”


“Students, who want to apply for re-totalling, should pay Rs 305 for Tamil and English subjects respectively, while re-totalling for Maths, Science and Social Science subjects, students need to pay Rs 205 by filling an application form available in their respective schools, he said adding that retotalling for elective subjects, will also cost Rs 205 for the students.


The official said that the students, who failed in the exams, could re-appear for the supplementary exam from June 14 to 22. Accordingly, the date for registering application forms will be announced shortly.
