Will sacking 1,500 teachers affect students?
The Madras HC order on sacking over 1,500 teachers, who did not complete TET, is unlikely to affect the students.

However, teachers will be severely affected since most havecrossed 40 years of age. The School Education Department has thousands of teacher’s aspirants, who have completed TET,waiting to get jobs and the State could appoint the new teachers within a week. Studies will not be affected since elementarystudents do not have a tough curriculum and the portions could be easily covered by the newcomers.
In addition, students from Class 1 to 8 do not have annual exams and therefore, this decison will not have much of an impact on them even if the government delays appointment of new teachers. At this juncture, affected teachers will surely move the court against the government decision to sack them.
