Hogenakkal incident: Youth's murderer arrested

After a 25-year-old youth was shot dead in Hogenakkal, police nabbed the murderer on Monday. The deceased was allegedly with a 15-year-old minor girl when the accused, Selvam approached the duo and asked them to leave the place.
When the youth protested, Selvam reportedly shot him with a gun which he took for hunting. When the girl shouted for help, the murdered flrd the spot. After the incident, a special team involving seven cops did an intensive search in the forest.
After six days of extensive search in forest by seven special squads, hunter Selvam was found in the Siknahalli forest at 8:30 PM on Monday.

When caught by police, Selvam said that he spotted the couple while hunting and he warned them to leave.
Selvam already has cases against him in Yeriyur, Pennagaram and Hogenakkal. He is a hunter and supplier of country-made guns. The gun used in this murder is said to have hidden in the Jakkampatti forest.
