A 150-year old Government Boys school in Krishnagiri's Sulagiri caught fire at 4 this morning. The firefighters put the fire off after an hour's effort.
The fire charred six almirahs with students' certificates in it. A wall of the school crumbled and the buildings in proximity developed crevices.
Initially, it was thought that fire was caused by electrical leakage, but the one who reported fire said he heard an explosive sound. There is a speculation that the ventilator of the bathroom behind the prinicipal's office was broken and miscreants either threw petrol bombs or country-made bombs. The investigation is on to find out the reason.
The Education officer took stock of the school's situation and inquired the principal.
