Speaking to reporters in Karur, Muthurasan said, gone are the days, when the Election Commission used to conduct reelection on the very next day if any irregularties take place during the polling. “But now, we have been insisting to conduct re-election at as many as 13 polling booths but no response has been received from the Election Commission so far but all of a sudden, 50 EVMs have been sent secretly to Theni constituency,” he said.
He said when the Opposition parties raised the issue of transporting EVMs to Theni, the Election Commission has said that it is a regular practice. “If it is a regular one, why should they have moved the EVMs secretly,” he asked. There are several such incidents now days, he added.
Mutharasan stated that the people have opted against Narendra Modi and Edappadi K Palaniswami and voted against them. “In both Lok Sabha polls and Assembly bypolls, the ruling party would certainly lose and there is a bright chance of change of rule at both the Centre as well as the state,” he said.
