2 girls die of lightning strikes in Sankarankovil

Tirunelveli proves to be an eccentric district this summer. The district had one of the highest spells of rain. But after 'agni natchathiram' the rain proportion reduced to nil, also the mercury touches 105 degrees.

However, Sankarankovil is an exception, the northen Tirunelveli locality was lashed by thunderstorm on Friday. Sadly, 2 students died due to lightning strikes.

The dams' water level plummeted in Tirunelveli. Papanasam dam level fell to 12.80 feet while it was recorded at 70.07 feet and 47.51 feet in Manimuthaaru and Servalaaru dams, respectively.
