Temp may dip in City, rain in dists: Met
Some parts of Theni, Virudhunagar and The Nilgiris experienced light to moderate showers on Saturday.

While the Chennai outskirts are witnessing high temperatures, the city temperature is likely to take a dip and touch a maximum of about 36 degrees Celsius due to sea breeze. However, humidity is set to remain high.
Meanwhile, Theni, Virudhunagar and The Nilgiris districts received light to moderate rainfall.
As per the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in the city for the next 48 hours with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 38 and 29 degrees Celsius respectively. On Saturday, Nungambakkam recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius and Meenambakkam 39.2 degrees Celsius during the day.
On Saturday, the RMC also issued a warning stating that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, including Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli districts. RMC officials said that interior regions including Krishnagiri, Salem, Namakkal and Coimbatore are to witness rainfall.
Weather blogger Pradeep John stated that the temperature in Chennai outskirts, which were sizzling at 41-43 degrees Celsius for the past few days, has come down to around 39 degrees Celsius. Tamil Nadu western interiors will get rainfall.
In neighbouring Kerala, parts of pathanamthitta, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Palakkad and Wayanad close to Western Ghats will get rains.
