The bench headed by Nishabanu and Dhandapani accorded permission for the memorial meet of the Sterlite protest victims. They set the condition that the event should be recorded both by the petitioner and the police and should be presented before the Tuticorin Police Superintend. The meet is set to take place in the Bell hotel on May 22 from 9 to 11 AM.
Earlier, the petitions were separately filed by Glaston's sister Johnmary and Azhwarthirunagari's Viyanarasu. The former's petition requested for either a rally from Panimayamatha shrine to SAV school ground or a meet at the St. Antony church's wedding hall. The latter requested for a meet either at the Kalaignar hall or Meyyavaadi.
