The repartee between Kamal Haasan and right-wing ideologues doesn't look like ending. BJP leader L Ganesan hit back at the veteran actor, saying the actor-politician 'lacked knowledge and history'.
Kamal Haasan stirred yet another controversy saying the label 'Hindu' was from foreigners. L Ganesan said that 'Hindu' term is found in the Vishnupuranam scripture.
He further said due to the cultural invasion of Christianity and Islam, the natives had an identification threat hence asserted themselves as Hindus but never were any different in the past.
He went on to say that even in Saudi Arabia, the Indian Muslim Hajj pilgrims are referred to as 'Hindus', so every Indian is essentially a Hindu, averred L Ganesan.
