Addressing reporters at Chennai airport, Tamilisai said, “Even when BJP was not in power in the state, projects worth Rs 5 lakh crore were implemented and key among them is the Godavari-Cauvery river interlinking project worth Rs 60,000 crore. BJP is a party that is not against the state and the projects will be implemented as in the previous five-year rule of BJP.”

Recently, there were reports in media that as Tamil Nadu did not elect any BJP representative from the state to Lok Sabha, theUnion government led by BJP will discriminate against the state andno new schemes would beimplemented.

Tamilisai refuted the reports and said that her statements were manipulated in media and social media. “I said that if there were more BJP representatives from the state there would be more Ministers and several new schemes would be implemented, but my statement was misinterpreted that the state will not get any new schemes and the state will be discriminated,” she clarified.

She also said that the party respected the mandate given by the people, but that does not mean that the party is against the people. “Our party leaders are more interested in the welfare of the state and we will continue to fight for the rights of the state,” she added.

Tamilisai is on the way to Delhi to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said all the alliance partners were invited and 150 BJP functionaries from the state will participate in the function.
