The draft scheme of New Education Policy will be open for public opinion till June 30.

In 2016, The TSR Subramaniam Committee submitted its draft to the government. Its recommendations were berated by students and academicians alike for policies like privatisation of education, education matching market needs.

As a result, on June 26 2017 the former ISRO scientist Kasturi Rangan was ceded with the responsibility of drafting New Education Policy, which was bungled by the Subramaniam Committee.

Kasturi Rangan's recommendations were submitted to the Human Resources and Development ministry, on Friday, to the newly appointed minister Ramesh Pokhriyal.

Its recommendations too are walking a tight rope in non-Hindi states, especially in Tamil Nadu for making Hindi mandatory in non-Hindi regions.

Though there are other recommendations like checking raise of school fees in private schools, job-ready syllabus, inculcating yoga and water management in syllabus, time leniency of exams, the Hindi imposition threat has obliterated discussions on other aspects of this draft.

Students, Academicians and public could voice their opinion by mailing nep.edu@nic.in till June 30.
