On hearing a petition moved by police, which said the body of T Palanisamy remained unclaimed at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), the Judicial Magistrate issued an order in this regard on Tuesday.
Palanisamy, who was working as an accountant in the group of companies owned by Martin, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a pond near Karamadai on May 3. The Coimbatore rural police registered a case of suspicious death and held inquiries but was clueless on the cause of his death.
Meanwhile Palanisamy’s son Rohin Kumar moved High Court seeking a magisterial inquiry suspecting foul play in the death of his father. Following an order by the High Court, Judicial Magistrate M Ramadhas conducted an inquiry into the case. A second post mortem was also performed in the presence of the magistrate.
Yet the family members refused to receive the body until those behind the death of Palanisamy were arrested. Palanisamy’s son Rohin Kumar even petitioned District Collector to keep his father’s body in the mortuary of Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) until the inquiry process got over.
However, following the court order, the police have decided to approach the family members seeking to take his body.
