Justice V Parthiban on slamming TNPSC for allowing such gross errors to occur dashing the dreams of many young aspirants, warned that the court would not tolerate such fallacies and is bound to take a tough stand against TNPSC. He also pointed out that a mere glance at the questions revealed that a lot were unwanted. The judge made the observation while hearing a plea moved by Vignesh of Mambalam who appeared for the exam.
He had contended that in the exam held during March this year as many as 1.68 lakh people took up the exam, but based on the answers released by TNPSC a few days later, he and many candidates found that the answers to as many as 18 questions were wrong. Based on this, a representation was sent to TNPSC not to declare the results without revaluing the papers based on the 18 wrong questions asked.
But notwithstanding this, TNPSC went ahead declaring the results on April 03 stating that as many as 9050 persons had cleared the exams. Vignesh noted that he had obtained 175.5 marks and if marks were offered to the wrong questions, he would have got 195 marks.
However, the counsel appearing for the TNPSC conceded that it was not 18 questions but 24 questions that were wrong and sought time to file a report about the same.
Livid with such a submission, Justice Parthiban on citing certain questions as non-answerable posted the plea for further hearing to June 17 after directing TNPSC to file its counter.
