Addressing reporters, Dhinakaran said, “Instead of resolving the issue, the State ministers are on a denial mode. Public protests over water scarcity are becoming common. There is no response from the AIADMK government.”
“The situation in RK Nagar is worse, as the government machinery has failed to provide water. Hence, we have pressed water tankers into service,” Dhinakaran, the RK Nagar MLA said.
According to AMMK north Chennai district secretary P Vettrivel, the party has pressed 15 lorries into service to provide drinking water. “We have hired water tankers and will supply water to all the six wards coming under the constituency. Based on the availability of water, six more tankers will be added. The free water supply will continue till the drought ends,” he said.
