Heat waves to continue in Tamil Nadu for the next 3 days
Even after 3 weeks of completion of ‘Agni Natchathiram’ in Tamil Nadu, the intensity of summer has not reduced. Delay of Southwest monsoon rains further intensified the heat.

According to Chennai Meteorological department, heat wave conditions will continue in North Tamil Nadu for the next 3 days.
Even after 3 weeks of completion of ‘Agni Natchathiram’ in Tamil Nadu, the intensity of summer has not reduced. Delay of Southwest monsoon rains further intensified the heat. Districts in North Tamil Nadu in particular, face heat temperatures much higher than the average.
As many as 12 places in Tamil Nadu faced temperature of more than 100 degrees on Tuesday. Meenambakkam and Thiruthani recorded maximum temperature of about 107 degrees.
Nungambakkam recorded 106 while Madurai and Trichy recorded 105 and 103 degrees respectively. Pondicherry and Karaikkal recorded 102 degrees.
“Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni districts will receive minimum rainfall in two to three places as an effect of Southwest monsoon. North Tamil Nadu will face heat waves on Wednesday. Northern parts of Bay of Bengal might face low air pressure conditions in the next four days. There are probabilities for the strengthening of Southwest monsoon rains in centre and southern parts of Arabian Sea,” said Balachandran, Director of Chennai Meteorological Department.
