The farmers, who assembled for the protest, said that agricultural activities have been totally affected by the anti-people projects in the State and this has led to a struggle for the delta farmers for their livelihood. The protesters carried the begging bowl symbolising their livelihood status. Suddenly, the farmers, who were raising slogans in support of their demands, started rolling on the ground and demanded the State government to oppose the hydrocarbon extraction project in the State. The police held talks with the agitating farmers and they were later allowed to submit a petition to the District Collector.
