DME to release rank list for State MBBS seats today
The Directorate of Medical Education will release the rank list for State and management quota seats in government and self-financing medical and dental colleges on Tuesday. The rank list for the admission to 85 percent State quota MBBS and BDS seats will be based on the NEET score.

The tentative date for counselling is July 5 to July 12 in offline mode, said sources. A total number of 34,368 applications and 25,388 applications were submitted under the government and management quotas respectively. A separate rank list will be released for the remaining 15 percent seats under all India quota seats to be filled by Medical Counselling Committee.
A total of 3,350 MBBS seats in government medical colleges and 1,600 seats in self-financing colleges are available this year. The new government medical college at Karur will have 150 seats while the government hospitals in Madurai and Tirunelveli have 100 seats each after additional seats were allowed by the Medical Council of India in the State this year.
The counselling for the special category students will be held on July 4 while the second phase of counselling will depend on the schedule of the next round of all India counselling. The first phase of counselling for management quota seats will be held from July 16 to July 18. The counselling schedule will be shared on the official website www.tnhealth.org and www.tnmedicalselection.org.
