Woman killed as son uploads wife’s photo online

According to police, Rajasekar (30) son of Krishnamurthy and Lakshmi (43) of Vettavalam in Tiruvannamalai district, married a 17-year-old plus two student of the locality at a temple in Marudamalai and brought her home a few days ago.

As the girl’s parents opposed the marriage, they came to his house and took her away. Heartbroken, Rajasekar uploaded his wedding pictures on WhatsApp and consumed poison. He was rushed to the Tiruvannamalai Government Hospital and later shifted to the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, enraged that his daughter’s pictures are on social media, the girl’s father Velu came to Rajasekar’s house with his friend Siva. Velu accosted Rajasekar’s mother, Lakshmi, who was later attacked by both and succumbed to injuries at Tiruvannamalai Government Hospital where she was admitted. Police are searching for Velu and Siva who are absconding.
