Condemning Subramanian Swami for making derogatory statements about Rahul while opining on drug abuse in Punjab recently, Alagiri cautioned that if Swamy continues to level cheap criticism against Rahul as usual, they would respond in kind, “not in Jayalalithaa’s way of protesting, but by levelling adverse criticism, democratically.”
Remarking that the BJP leader was in the habit of levelling baseless and cheap allegations and intimidatory criticism for long, the TNCC chief said that he had even criticized the BJP at times and got away with it as the saffron party lacked the courage to either reprimand or defend him.
“BJP leadership does not mind that. He is ostracised by all because he is a person who creates trouble in politics,” Alagiri added, strongly condemning the BJP leader for his below the belt remarks about his party chief.
“Everyone knows the capacity and worth of Subramanian Swami in Indian politics. I would like to remind about the kind of agitations organised against him in Tamil Nadu,” the TNCC chief said.
