TN students can apply to Pondy polytechnics

Talking to the media, Minister R Kamalakannan said that the desire among students to join in polytechnic has diminished, due to which 50 per cent of the seats were lying vacant.“Students are not aware that it is a job oriented course,” he said, adding that officials were advised to create awareness about this among students. It was a matter of concern as the government has spent copious funds on infrastructure and amenities in the colleges, said the Minister, announcing the decision to admit students from neighbouringStates to the courses.
