TN firm on banning TikTok app, says Manikandan

Responding to a query, Manikandan said, “ Only the central government has the power to ban a mobile app. Tamil Nadu has already written to the Centre in this regard and has expressed to them that it is firm on banning TikTok.” 

A case had already been filed at Madurai Bench of Madras High Court and though a interim stay was given, the ban was lifted after officials of the app promised the court that contents which affect the culture and moral of the society will not be entertained.
