Hogenakkal gets water released from Karnataka
Giving reasons to cheer, the water released from KRS and Kabini dams has reached Tamil Nadu on Monday.

The water flow in Biligundulu, the entry point of Cauvery into Tamil Nadu from Karnataka, surged to 5000 cusecs around 6pm. It was 1000 cusecs at 6am and increased to 4000 cusecs at 12 noon.
The release of water comes after storage level in KRS and Kabini dams in Karnataka reached comfortable position following heavy rains in its catchments.
Tourists thronged the Hogenakkal falls following a good flow of water. The PWD officials hope that the water is likely to reach Mettur on Tuesday early morning hours.
The water level in Mettur dam stood at 39.23 feet as against its full reservoir level of 120 feet on Monday. Inflow into the dam was 213 cusecs while 1000 cusecs of water is released for drinking purpose.
