SR chief vigilance officer Veeravalli assumes office

Bhooma G Veeravalli, a 1987 batch IRPS (Indian Railway Personnel Officer), has assumed charge as the new senior deputy general manager and chief vigilance officer of Southern Railway (SR).

Bhooma G Veeravalli has worked in the western, south eastern, south central, southern railway zones and the Integral Coach Factory in various capacities earlier. Prior to joining SR, Ms Veeravalli worked as divisional railway manager of Guntur division, South Central Railway. During her tenure, she spearheaded railway electrification of all mainline routes in Guntur division, which reportedly became the first division in Indian Railways to successfully implement e-office operations. Guntur DRM Office had also become the first building in Indian Railways to be awarded Platinum Rating by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) during her stint there. With a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology and graduation in Law, Bhooma has also worked on deputation as Controller, Sathish Dhawan Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and as Registrar of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras.
