TNEA: 1 more round of counselling on July 30

Failing to find takers for nearly a lakh engineering seats even after the conclusion of the fourth and final round of counselling, the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has decided to conduct one more round of counselling on July 30.

DoTE officials announced on Sunday that the students who failed to attend the counselling despite registering and the students who were not allotted seats during the counselling so far can appear for the last round of counselling.


“The verification of the certificates will be done between 10 am to 12 noon at the Central Polytechnic College in Taramani. The counselling will follow at 4 pm at the same campus. The students should report with their mark sheets of Classes 10, 11 and 12, community certificate, TC and residential certificate,” stated a release from the directorate.


Students can also inform the authorities of their participation at 044-22351014/1015 or email them at tnea2019enquiry@gmail.com. The final publication of seat allotment to the students would be done after the last round on July 30.


Officials from the DoTE said that at least 20,000 students have participated in the fourth round of counselling this year. He said that there are about 1.7 lakh engineering seats available this year in about 500 colleges across the State, of which 1.51 lakh seats will be offered byself-financing colleges. As per the current figures, at least one lakh engineeringseats will remain vacantthis year.
