Interacting with the media persons after meeting Nalini and Murugan in the Vellore prison, he said that Nalini’s fast had entered third day on Friday. He revealed that the information about Nalini petitioning the Prime Minister seeking mercy killing of her and her husband due to the mental trauma was true.

Stating that Nalini had handed over two petitions to the Vellore jail officials, he said, one pertained to her request to the Supreme Court seeking mercy killing and the other petition was addressed to the Tamil Nadu Home Secretary pleading action as Vellore jail officials were refusing to shift her and her husband Murugan to Puzhal prison in Chennai.

On the request for the change of prison, Pugazhendhi alleged that the turn of events was due to Murugan petitioning government about the corruption that was taking place in the jail which benefitted Vellore prisons DIG Jayabharathy. Murugan had complained to the government that Jayabharathy benefitted to the tune of Rs 30,000, he said. We are collecting all evidence against Jayabharathy and will take a legal course seeking justice, he ended.
