It is said, Sasikala owns a house at Vijayamandapa Street on Mission Road, Thanjavur, which is situated in a land measuring 10,500 sq ft in which one J Manoharan has been residing. In such a backdrop, the Thanajvur City Corporation has suspected the stability of the building which may collapse anytime. Since the building is situated close to a school, it has been posing a threat to the people, especially the students passing through the spot and so, the civic body has decided to demolish the building and an announcement was made on September 17 and a notice to the owner was sent to demolish the building as per the Corporation Regulation Section 327 (1), (2) and (3) and 478 and claimed that the civic body would demolish the building if the owner fails to do so within 15 days of receiving the notice.
However, no one cared to demolish the structure and so the Corporation had displayed the notice at the entrance of the building on Wednesday evening. The notice also restricted the entry of anyone inside the building owing to the poor condition. According to the officials, the Corporation has enumerated the weak buildings in the city a few months ago and decided to demolish four buildings, including the Sivagangai Park and the house of Sasikala.
