Minors kidnap, murder 11-year-old, dump body into Ariyamangalam yard

A Abdul Vaheed (11), a Class 6 boy, was in the habit of bunking classes and roaming with his friends.

On December 3, Vaheed had reportedly taken Rs 10 from his mother and failed to return home after a long time. Since the boy was not traced, his father Aliyar (35) lodged a complaint with the Ariyamangalam police, who registered a case and were searching for him.

The initial investigation by the police revealed that Vaheed was roaming with a few other boys from the locality. Subsequently, the gang members were secured and in further questioning, they admitted to having murdered the boy and buried him at the dump yard at Ariyamangalam.

The shocked police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. After a post-mortem at the Tiruchy GH, the body was handed over to his parents. Further investigation are on.
