Rajini mandram’s diktat: Avoid LB polls
Members of the Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) were directed not to contest the December 27 and 30 local body elections in Tamil Nadu.

They were also directed not to campaign for any party or individual in the ensuing civic polls. Action would be taken against those violating this directive, the Mandram said.
The directive was issued following reports that some of the members were planning to enter the fray as independents.
A couple of days ago, VM Sudhakaran, who co-ordinates the activities of the Rajini Makkal Mandram, issued a statement that actor Rajinikanth would not be contesting the civic polls and that he would neither support any political party.
Tiruchy district secretary of Rajini Makkal Mandram M Khaleel, in a statement said, “Rajinikanth has not vouched support to anyone in the local body elections. Hence his name, mandram flag or name should not be misused by anyone.”
