Anti-socials hurl bomb on bar in Pondy after tiff over payment, 3 held
Tension prevailed at Thiruvandarkoil near here on Sunday night when three anti-socials hurled a country-made bomb on a bar hotel.

According to police, three youth came to the bar around 9.30 pm on Sunday night and consumed liquor. On finishing, they went out without paying the bill and the staff of the bar, including the cashier, demanded to pay the bill.
This led to an argument in front of the bar and in the process, one of them hurled a country-made bomb on the bar hotel and escaped on their motorcycles. As the liquor bottles were broken by the youth, customers panicked and rushed out.
Bar staff Bhaskar lodged a complaint with the Thirubhuvanai police, who rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation. They identified the culprits with the help of the CCTV footage there and arrested the trio.
They were identified as Vignesh(22), Kadir (19) and Mukesh (19). Further investigation is on.
Rs 3.9 L stolen from Tasmac outlet Meanwhile, police are searching for the miscreants, who had snatched away Rs 3.90 lakh from Tasmac employees at knife point in Thanjavur on Sunday night.
Salesmen Sivakumar and Srinivasan were checking the accounts around 10.30 pm at a Tasmac outlet on Velar road when three unidentified persons came to the shop with several lethal weapons and snatched away Rs 3.90 lakh at knife point after damaging the CCTV camera and escaped.
Later, supervisor Baskaran lodged a complaint with the Taluk police and on information, SP Maheswaran rushed to the shop and conducted an investigation.
The police also took away the CCTV recordings and are searching for the miscreants.
Some miscreants had ransacked the outlet last year.
